Used of Technology in Teaching and Learning III
💦 21 CENTURY LEARNING
As the rapidly expanding technology boom in our country, Malaysia needs to make a change that can improve the quality of education in our country. Because of that, Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia (KPM) has been implementing 21st century learning in 2014. This learning system is more oriented to the students and some of the elements have been applied within the student. Such as communication, collaborative, critical thinking and so on.
- Communication
In general, communication is an exchange of information from individuals to other individuals. In the context of education, communication refers to the conversation between teacher and student or student and student to share knowledge that is understood with other friends. This is said to be a student-centered communication. However, if a teacher does not play well, effective communication will not result in the learning process.
- Collaborative
Collaborative refers to something that is done together or in groups. Collaborative in the education world is an active collaboration between teachers and pupils or students and students actively and thoroughly, in which case it involves the exchange of ideas, opinions or knowledge among pupils. For this element, the teacher needs to understand the student's learning style. if there is a student who does not like group work, the teacher should attract the student so group work looks more fun and easier.
- Critical Thinking
In general, critical thinking refers to the individual's ability to evaluate something, including its advantages and disadvantages. From an educational perspective, critical thinking occurs when students begin to explore their thinking to evaluate new ideas that are rationally accepted and to take into account the idea through the use of reasonable causes.
Therefore, teachers need to monitor whether the information sought by students is appropriate to the learning topic or not. Teachers also need to ensure that their students are trained to find relevant information and evaluate whether the information obtained is appropriate or not to carry out the assignment given.
